Miscellaneous Publications

A number of other publications that have involved IAEM or its members are included here:

• In November 2003, a Working Party of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland produced Clinical Guidelines for the Initial Management of the Severely Injured Patient. This working party was chaired by Dr LC Luke, Consultant in Emergency Medicine, Cork University Hospital and was contributed to by a number of IAEM members.
• In Spring 2009, a Working Group on Traumatic Brain Injury produced The Phillips Report; National Report on Traumatic Brain Injury 2008. This report was contributed to by Dr NC Collins on behalf of Emergency Medicine.
• In September 2012, a Scientific Advisory Committee of the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (which included Drs Tomas Breslin and Una Kennedy, Consultants in Emergency Medicine at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital and St. James's Hospital respectively) produced Guidelines for the Emergency Management of Injuries (where there is a risk of the transmission of bloodborne viruses and other infectious diseases). Also available are a Teaching Resource for EDs in both PDF and Powerpoint formats.

As a full member of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine since 2003 IAEM is party to a number of IFEM Documents and Standards:
