ICEM 2012

Background

The Irish Association for Emergency Medicine was extremely proud to have been chosen by the International Federation for Emergency Medicine to host the 14th ICEM last June.

Date

The Main Conference took place from Wednesday 27th June 2012 until Saturday 30th June 2012 inclusive. There were pre-conference workshops and other educational events in the days immediately before the Conference. Details of the Academic programme can still be found at www.icem2012.org

Venue

The newly completed Convention Centre, Dublin (CCD) was the state of the art venue for the Conference.

Website

The Conference has its own dedicated ICEM 2012 website which is currently still populated with relevant information. Over the next few weeks, the presentations will be uploaded to the website.

Official Opening

The 14th ICEM was officially opened by the President of Ireland, Mr. Michael D Higgins on Wednesday 27th June 2012. The President's Address is accessible to all.

Academic Programme

Detailed information about the comprehensive academic programme covering many of the topical issues in international Emergency Medicine is still available on the ICEM 2012 website.

Abstracts

The call for Abstracts for ICEM 2012 closed on 30th January 2012 with a record number of submissions (over 1,100) received. 

Social Programme

The Social Programme featured a Welcome Reception in the Guinness Storehouse on Tuesday 26th June 2012 and a Gala Conference Banquet on Friday 29th June 2012 at the Convention Centre's Liffey Suite 

There was also an accompanying persons' programme to allow visitors see the sites of Dublin and beyond.

Promotional Video

IAEM produced an ICEM 2012 Promotional Video to advertise the Conference and the host city of Dublin. This was aired for the first time at the 13th ICEM in Singapore in June 2010. The Association had a promotional stand at the meeting to advertise the Dublin meeting and below are some of the IAEM crew who manned the stand.

IAEM also had promotional stands at the MEMC conference in Kos and the CEM Annual Conference in Gateshead both in September 2011 and at the CEM CPD Meeting in London in March 2012.
