Special Arrangements for ICEM 2012 Registration for Particular Categories of Doctors

The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, as the Training Body to which ICEMT is affiliated, has made arrangements to fund the attendance of certain categories of doctors at ICEM 2012. Each doctor in either category will have by now received an email outlining these arrangements and providing a link to the Registration Engine appropriate to their category of eligibility. The following is a summary of the position.

Doctors currently on ICEMT's BSTEM and HSTEM Programmes

Doctors who are currently on ICEMT's BSTEM and HSTEM programmes will be funded to attend the Conference. Those wishing to attend the pre-Conference Workshops or the various social events may do so at their own expense.

These arrangements do not apply to those appointed to the programmes who do not take up post until July 2012.

Doctors in EM currently registered with RCSI for its Professional Development Programme (PDP)

Doctors in EM who have formally registered with RCSI for its Professional Development Programme are eligible to be funded to attend the Conference. Please note that registration for the PCS in EM is only a part of the process of registration for the PDP.

This category of doctor may also attend certain pre-Conference Workshops courtesy of RCSI funding although others may only be accessed by paying the appropriate Workshop Registration Fee outlined on the Registration Engine. Attendance at Social Events are also at the registering doctor's expense.

The Workshops that require payment are:

  • MedicALS Course
  • Regional Anaesthesia Workshop
  • Ultrasound (Level 1 and Advanced) Workshops
  • Advanced Paediatric Life Support Course
  • European Trauma Course
  • TEAM (Advanced Airway) Course
  • Introduction to Medical Simulation

Those available without supplementary payment are:

  • Advanced ECG Interpretation
  • Pre-hospital Research
  • Use of the Internet for Evidence Based Practice
  • Major Incident Exercise
  • Paediatric Procedural Sedation Workshop

Other Doctors in Irish EM not in the above categories

Doctors in neither of these specific categories interested in attending ICEM 2012 should register for the Conference and the pre-Conference Workshops using this link.
